One of Europe’s most romantic capital cities, Lisbon is both historic and cosmopolitan, with its gracious 18th-century squares and parks, fairy-tale castles, art nouveau architecture, panoramic city views and a distinctive take on Mediterranean cuisine.

Day 1 - Lisbon

Disembark your ship and transfer to your hotel. Spend the remainder of the day relaxing or begin exploring the city a bit on your own. A Viking Host is available to help you plan your time in Lisbon so you can make the most of your visit.

Day 2 - Lisbon

This morning, take a walking tour of Lisbon and its most colorful district, characterized by its pink street and lively atmosphere. The remainder of your day is free to explore on your own. Perhaps explore the waterfront area or visit some of the lovely public parks, such as the Eduardo VII Park or the Jardim Botânico (Botanical Garden). This evening, enjoy dinner at your leisure. (B)

Day 3 - Lisbon

After breakfast, check out of your hotel and enjoy time to explore Lisbon on your own. This afternoon, transfer to your awaiting ship to begin your cruise. (B)

Experience Alentejo’s rich culture. Walk the cobbled streets of the UNESCO-designated city of Évora and visit historic Arraiolos, famous for its hand-embroidered rugs. Taste cuisine infused with Roman, Moorish and Mediterranean influences, and discover the region’s polyphonic singing traditions.

Day 1 – Évora

Disembark your ship and drive to Arraiolos, where you will visit the Tapestry Museum. Here, you will learn about Arraiolos rugs, hand-embroidered rugs known for their exquisite detailing and vibrant colors. Then, continue to Évora, a museum city with roots dating back to the Roman era and a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1986. Pause for lunch and then explore on foot with your guide before transferring to your hotel for check-in. Tonight, dine with your fellow guests at your hotel. (L, D)

Day 2 – Évora

After breakfast, head to Honrado Vineyards to discover the tradition of Talha winemaking. Enjoy a guided wine tasting and learn about this unique process, where grapes are crushed and aged inside clay jars, which encourages spontaneous fermentation. Later, settle in for a five-course Alentejo-style lunch. As you dine, discover the polyphonic singing tradition of Cante Alentejano, recognized by UNESCO as an Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity. After, return to your hotel. (B, L)

Day 3 – Évora & Lisbon

After breakfast, check out of your hotel and head to a cork factory located in Évora for a guided visit to learn about this eco-friendly material. Portugal is home to 34% of the world’s cork oak forests, and cork is used daily in the production of clothes, fashion accessories, wine stoppers and more. After your visit, continue to your hotel in Lisbon for check-in. This afternoon, explore Lisbon at your leisure, perhaps calling at one of its many restaurants to sample the local cuisine. (B)

Day 4 – Lisbon

This morning, enjoy breakfast at your hotel before checking out and transferring to the airport for your flight home. (B)
