Day 1 - Ulaanbaatar

Fly to Ulaanbaatar, where you will be met by a Viking Representative and escorted to your hotel for check-in. Depending on the time of your arrival, set out to explore the city with your guide. This evening, enjoy a dinner of delicious local cuisine with your fellow travelers. (D)

Day 2 - Gobi Desert

After breakfast, check out and head to the airport for your flight to Dalanzadgad Airport. Transfer to your lodge in the Gobi Desert, then enjoy the remainder of the day at your leisure or choose to partake in one of a wide range of included lodge activities, such as archery, a camel safari or an exploration of the famous Flaming Cliffs. Lunch and dinner will be served in the dining ger, where you can savor fresh Mongolian fare before venturing out to stargaze. (B, L, D)

Days 3 & 4 - Gobi Desert

Spend the next two days partaking in lodge activities at your own pace. You may choose to join fellow early risers for a sunrise trek through the desert hills with a naturalist guide. Or take in panoramic views of the steppe from Bulagtai Mountain, where you can examine ancient petroglyphs. Alternatively, learn the secrets of making buuz (steamed dumplings) from your Mongolian chef. Later, sip a cocktail as you watch the sunset at the Flaming Cliffs, then enjoy the stars after dinner. Day 5 - Ulaanbaatar

After breakfast, check out and transfer to the airport for your flight to Ulaanbaatar. Upon arrival, stop at your hotel before visiting the Choijin Lama Temple Museum, home to a large collection of Buddhist artifacts. After lunch, visit the Chinggis Khaan National Museum, and step behind the scenes for a look at fossil specimens and more in the paleontology lab. This evening, attend a performance of traditional music, throat singing and dance, followed by a farewell dinner. (B, L, D)

Day 6 - Tokyo (Yokohama)

This morning, check out and head to the airport for your flight to Tokyo. Upon arrival, meet your Viking Representative and transfer to your ship to begin your cruise. (B)

Journey to Siem Reap—the gateway to the magnificent temples of Angkor Wat, a UNESCO World Heritage Site—and discover the remnants and lasting influences of the Khmer Empire.

Day 1 - Siem Reap, Cambodia

Transfer to the airport for your flight to Siem Reap and meet your Viking Tour Director. After lunch, check in to your hotel before heading to Artisans Angkor, a cultural workshop dedicated to the preservation of traditional Cambodian craftsmanship. Gain insight into the significance of these handicrafts as local artisans showcase the intricate processes involved in their creation, including wood carving, stone sculpting, silk painting and more. Later, enjoy dinner at a local eatery. (L, D)

Day 2 - Siem Reap, Cambodia

This morning, head to Angkor, one of the world’s most important archaeological sites. Watch the sun rise at the UNESCO-listed Angkor Wat and enjoy a guided tour of this ancient temple complex. After breakfast at your hotel, continue to Preah Dak Village to learn about the preparation of traditional Khmer rice noodles, Nom Banh Chok. At Banteay Srey Temple, explore ruins adorned with intricate carvings, then visit Ankgor National Museum. Later this evening, dine at a local restaurant. (B, L, D)

Day 3 - Siem Reap, Cambodia

Today, begin at the fortified city of Angkor Thom, where you will stroll through its famed terraces and see the mysterious Bayon Temple. Visit Ta Prohm, where nature and architecture intertwine—the roots of silk-cotton trees cascade over its doorways and through its walls. After lunch, join local dancers to learn how to perform the traditional Apsara dance, once performed in royal courts and temples. Later, enjoy dinner followed by a performance blending dance, acrobatics and juggling. (B, L, D)

Day 4 - Siem Reap, Cambodia & Bangkok, Thailand

Relax this morning, then check out of your hotel before we take you to the airport for your flight to Bangkok. Upon arrival, transfer to your hotel and enjoy an evening to explore at your leisure. (B, L)

Day 5 - Bangkok, Thailand

After breakfast, check out of your hotel and proceed to the airport for your return flight. (B)

Day 1 - Bangkok

Disembark your ship and transfer to your hotel. This afternoon, take a guided tour of the Grand Palace, once the royal residence of the Chakri Kings and an excellent example of an ancient Siamese court. Built in 1782, it was the center of power for more than 150 years. Continue on to Wat Pho, one of Thailand’s most well-known temples. Here, you will see a 150-foot-tall reclining Buddha statue, the largest in Bangkok. Finally, stop at a flower market and browse its large selection of orchids. (B)

Day 2 - Bangkok

You have a final free day in Bangkok. Explore more of the city or do some shopping in one of Bangkok’s colorful open-air markets or sophisticated shopping malls. Consider visiting Chinatown or a farmers’ market to sample local food. See one of the city’s many museums or embark on a traditional longtail boat ride. Alternatively, you may choose to join a full-day optional tour to Ayutthaya, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. (B)

Day 3 - Bangkok

After breakfast, check out of your hotel and transfer to the airport for your flight home. (B)
