Be captivated by the vibrant culture of Buenos Aires, Argentina’s cosmopolitan capital. Explore two of the city’s colorful barrios, or neighborhoods: bustling Palermo and historic San Telmo.

Day 1 - Buenos Aires

Disembark your ship and a Viking Representative will escort you to your hotel. After check-in, you may explore the city at your leisure. A Viking Host is available to help you plan your time in Buenos Aires so you can make the most of your visit. Alternatively, you may choose to join an optional excursion to glimpse some of the city’s sights, including the Recoleta Cemetery, then enjoy a leisurely river cruise to La Boca for lunch. Return to your hotel for dinner on your own.

Day 2 - Buenos Aires

Today, discover more of Argentina’s most populous city on your own. You may take the subway—the oldest in the Southern Hemisphere—and head to the barrio of Palermo. This tree-lined residential area is full of upscale eateries and boutiques. Or visit San Telmo, the city’s oldest neighborhood. Optional excursions are also available, including a culinary experience at an Argentine parilla, a visit to a winery followed by lunch, and an evening tango show accompanied by dinner. (B)

Day 3 - Buenos Aires

After breakfast, check out of your hotel. You may choose to join an optional excursion to explore the barrios of Buenos Aires, or alternatively, you may transfer directly to the airport for your flight home. (B)

Explore both the Chilean and Argentine sides of Patagonia, a region of singular beauty. Admire the rugged peaks of Torres del Paine National Park, the blue waters of Lake Argentino, the sweeping views from atop Calafate Balcony and one of the world’s only advancing glaciers, the vast Perito Moreno.

Day 1 - El Calafate

Disembark your ship and transfer to the airport for your flight to El Calafate. Upon your arrival, you will proceed to your hotel. Check in and enjoy the idyllic beauty around Lake Argentino before traveling up to the Balcón del Calafate and then Huyliche Hill, located 3,400 feet above sea level, to admire sweeping views of the landscape. Finish at the Stone Labyrinth (Laberinto de Piedras), a Cretaceous-period formation containing fossil remains dating back 85 million years. (L, D)

Day 2 - El Calafate

Set out on a full-day excursion to Los Glaciares National Park and the Perito Moreno Glacier, one of the world’s only advancing glaciers. Drive through the Andean-Patagonian Forest to the Curve of Sighs (Curva de los Suspiros), where you will first glimpse the vast glacier. Traverse a series of catwalks and enjoy a scenic cruise, listening to the immense chunks of ice hiss and crack as they calve off the glacier and tumble into Lake Argentino. This evening, enjoy dinner at your hotel. (B, L, D)

Day 3 - Torres del Paine National Park

After a leisurely breakfast, embark your motor coach for an unforgettable scenic drive through snowcapped mountains across the Argentine border into Chile. After checking into your hotel, savor a three-course lunch. This afternoon you may enjoy the hotel’s amenities at your leisure join an orientation tour with your Viking Tour Director. This evening, enjoy dinner at your hotel with your fellow guests. (B, L, D)

Day 4 - Torres del Paine National Park

Enjoy a full day of exploring Torres del Paine National Park, a wonderland of soaring mountains, blue glaciers, and shimmering lakes and rivers. Admire the park’s iconic mountain ranges: the Paine Towers (Torres del Paine) and the Paine Horns (Cuernos del Paine). Visit waterfalls and the Grey Lake area, where you will see glacial blocks of ice floating in the water. The park is also known for its vivid vegetation and wildlife. This evening, enjoy dinner on your own at your hotel. (B, L)

Day 5 - Santiago

After a leisurely breakfast, board your motor coach for a scenic drive to the Punta Arenas airport and fly to Santiago, Chile’s breathtaking capital. You will arrive in the evening and transfer to your hotel. (B, L, D)

Day 6 - Santiago

After breakfast, check out of your hotel and transfer by motor coach to the airport for your return flight home.

Experience Iguazú Falls, the largest waterfall system in the world, from both the Brazilian and Argentine sides of the falls. Then, revel in Brazil’s vibrant Rio de Janeiro while exploring the iconic sights of the Carioca landscapes, a UNESCO Site that includes Corcovado and Sugarloaf Mountain.

Day 1 - Iguazú Falls

Disembark your ship, then transfer to the airport for your flight to Iguazú. After check-in at your hotel and lunch, travel to the rim of Iguazú Falls. Taller than Niagara Falls, this natural wonder is the largest waterfall system in the world. Tour the Brazilian side of the falls, a vast rainforest of rare birds and other wildlife. Explore along a circuit of walkways facing the falls. This evening, enjoy a delicious dinner, accompanied by a wine pairing. (L, D)

Day 2 - Iguazú Falls

Today, experience Iguazú Falls from the Argentine side, where you will have a choice of different experiences and a local lunch. Take a train ride to Garganta del Diablo Station, then follow the walkways to see the spectacular Devil’s Throat. Or stroll along the Upper Trail, a series of walkways offering panoramic views of the falls from the upper Iguazú River. Alternatively, walk the Lower Trail and enjoy views of the falls from below. This evening, enjoy dinner at your hotel. (B, L, D)

Day 3 - Rio de Janeiro

Today, check out of your hotel and proceed to the airport for your flight to Rio de Janeiro. After check-in at your hotel, you may relax or explore the city at your leisure. This evening, travel to a local churrascaria for a Brazilian barbecue dinner; your Viking Tour Director will be on hand to facilitate introductions and describe the different dishes. Your Viking Tour Director will also be available to help you plan your time in Rio de Janeiro so you can make the most of your visit. (B, D)

Day 4 - Rio de Janeiro

After breakfast, set out on a full-day tour of Rio including its UNESCO-listed Carioca landscapes, an iconic natural feature that tumbles down to the sea from Tijuca National Park’s lush green mountains. You will visit the towering Christ the Redeemer statue that stands atop Corcovado mountain. After lunch, take a cable car to the summit of Sugarloaf Mountain for more inspiring views of the city and harbor. This evening, enjoy dinner at your hotel. (B, L, D)

Day 5 - Rio de Janeiro

After breakfast, transfer to the airport for your return flight home. (B)
