Journey into the heart of the Peruvian Amazon aboard the privately chartered National Geographic Delfin II, an intimate river vessel reserved exclusively for Lindblad Expeditions guests. Purpose-built for exploration in the Pacaya Samiria National Reserve, this 135-foot ship carries just 28 guests, offering a deeply personal and immersive experience through one of the world’s most biologically rich ecosystems.

The Delfin II features 14 spacious suites, including four Master Suites at the front of the ship with panoramic jungle views. Each suite is elegantly appointed with floor-to-ceiling windows, locally crafted furnishings, and natural wood finishes, blending regional authenticity with modern comfort. En-suite bathrooms, air conditioning, and plush bedding provide a welcome retreat after active days on the river.

As a private charter, the ship offers an elevated level of exclusivity, with customized programming and a close-knit atmosphere. Guests can gather in the open-air observation deck, relax in the lounge and bar, or enjoy gourmet meals in the dining room, where menus are inspired by Amazonian flavors and sourced from local ingredients.

Daily excursions—led by a seasoned team of naturalists, cultural interpreters, and a National Geographic-certified photo instructor—take guests deep into the reserve aboard skiffs and kayaks. Wildlife sightings may include pink river dolphins, sloths, toucans, monkeys, and caimans, while visits to riverside communities offer meaningful cultural connections.

National Geographic Lindblad Expeditions

Pioneering Exploration with Expert-Led Adventures

National Geographic Lindblad Expeditions

National Geographic Lindblad Expeditions is a leader in small-ship expedition travel, running expertly guided voyages to some of the most remote places on earth. Its expedition vessels are built for travellers who want authentic adventure, in-depth discovery, and close access to nature and wildlife. Destinations reach from Antarctica and the Arctic to the Galapagos Islands, the Amazon, and Alaska, and each voyage is planned to give real cultural and ecological context.

What sets National Geographic Lindblad apart is its commitment to exploration, science, and conservation. Every voyage carries onboard naturalists, marine biologists, historians, and National Geographic-certified photographers, so guests understand what they are seeing through expert guidance and hands-on time in the field. A Zodiac, the inflatable landing craft used to reach shore, opens up close encounters. On a single voyage you might cross a glacial fjord, snorkel near sea lions in the Galapagos, or watch the northern lights in the Arctic. Each one puts you in direct contact with the natural world.

Small group sizes keep the atmosphere intimate and let guests stay close to their surroundings. The onboard experience pairs comfort with learning, with scientific briefings, photography workshops, and regional cuisine. National Geographic Lindblad also backs sustainable travel, supporting conservation work, local communities, and research projects that help protect the fragile places it visits.
