Day 2 – Budapest, Hungary

This morning, explore Hungary’s largest baroque palace, marveling at its historical traditions and unique architectural splendor. Visit the charming Gödöllö Palace, a favorite retreat of Empress Elisabeth and Emperor Franz Joseph I. Given as a coronation gift in 1867, the palace boasts beautifully restored interiors and exquisite 18th-century French-style gardens. Enjoy a guided tour through its impressive complex and serene surroundings. Afterward, spend the rest of your day at leisure. (B)

Day 3 – Eger & Tokaj, Hungary

After breakfast, check out of your hotel and begin your transfer to Tokaj. Along the way, stop in Eger, a charming town set amid the rolling hills of a famous wine region. An orientation walk will introduce you to the beautiful baroque buildings and history of Eger, followed by free time for independent exploration and lunch on your own. Savor a taste of regional wines at a local vineyard before checking in to your hotel in Tokaj, then enjoy dinner at another local vineyard this evening. (B, D)

Day 4 – Tokaj, Hungary

Today, explore the Tokaj region, renowned for its sweet wine. Visit a local home for a taste of homemade jam and champagne before discovering the baroque synagogue in Mád and its adjoining rabbi house. After lunch, head to Hercegkút for an opportunity to marvel at its unique cellar system, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Day 5 – Hortobágy National Park & Budapest, Hungary

After breakfast, check out of your hotel and begin your transfer to Budapest. Along the way, stop at the Hortobágy National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Discover the vast Hungarian plains, home to traditional animal husbandry, Hungarian gray cattle and herds of sheep. Visit the bird hospital, a refuge for wild storks and other birds, and the Shepherd Museum. Day 2 – Ljubljana & Lake Bled, Slovenia

This morning, embark on a full-day excursion, starting in the enchanting medieval town of Radovljica. Take a guided walk through its old town, concluding at a historic inn where you will craft traditional honey bread biscuits. Following lunch, travel to Lake Bled, where you will set out on a scenic boat ride to Bled Island. Here, explore its picturesque chapel and iconic wishing bell, then enjoy a stroll amid Bled’s charming streets. After, return to Ljubljana for an evening at leisure. (B, L)

Day 3 – Ljubljana, Slovenia & Zagreb, Croatia

After breakfast, check out of your hotel and follow your guide on a captivating walking tour of Ljubljana. Ride the funicular to Ljubljana Castle for panoramic views over the city. Along the way, stop along the shores of Lake Balaton in Keszthely, where you will explore the historic Festetics Palace and its Helikon Palace Museum. Day 3 – Munich

After breakfast, check out of your hotel and journey to Munich. Upon arrival, get acquainted with the city during an orientation walk as you explore the historic main town square, the Marienplatz. Observe the famous Glockenspiel in Marienplatz and climb the tower of Peterskirche for spectacular views of the city. This afternoon, enjoy a guided panoramic tour by motor coach to discover the highlights of Bavaria’s capital, the third-largest city in Germany. (B)

Day 4 – Munich

Today, visit one of the region’s spectacular palatial treasures built by one of Bavaria’s most celebrated monarchs, King Ludwig II. Drive into the countryside, where you will see the famed Neuschwanstein Castle. This fairy-tale fortress was built as an homage to composer Richard Wagner, and was the inspiration for the setting of Walt Disney’s Sleeping Beauty.
