Arrive in Memphis and transfer to your hotel. After lunch on your own, explore the celebrated birthplace of Memphis blues, a center of civil rights history and the final home of Elvis Presley. Today, visit Elvis’s home: Graceland. See Elvis’s TV room; the famous Jungle Room; the Trophy Building; the Meditation Garden, where Elvis is buried; and more. Discover Memphis’s musical heritage during visits to two legendary music studios. Explore Sun Studio, where legendary producer Sam Phillips launched the careers of Elvis Presley, Johnny Cash, Jerry Lee Lewis, Carl Perkins and others. Continue to the Stax Museum of American Soul Music, the former home of the influential Stax Records, to view its collection of artifacts and memorabilia from stars like Otis Redding and Wilson Pickett. After, the Historic RCA Studio B Tour will transport you back to moments that made history. See where Elvis Presley, Dolly Parton, Waylon Jennings, and other greats recorded hits, and hear stories of songs born in this historically important studio. Enjoy free time for lunch, then visit the Ryman Auditorium, home of the Grand Ole Opry show from 1943 to 1974. (B)
