Oberammergau, Innsbruck & the Rhine

Arrive at the airport, then transfer to your hotel. After check-in, take time to relax or join a guided orientation walk with your Viking Tour Director this afternoon to better acquaint yourself with Brussels. This evening, meet your fellow travelers and enjoy a welcome drink before dining at your leisure.

This morning, set out on a guided walk through the old town of Brussels. Stop to see the Royal Gallery of Saint Hubert—one of the first European shopping arcades to be built during the early 19th century. You will also view the iconic Manneken Pis statue and the ornate Grand Place, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Along the way, enjoy a taste of Belgian chocolates, waffles and fries. Spend the rest of the day exploring on your own and have dinner at your leisure. (B)

After breakfast, travel to medieval Bruges, a UNESCO Site. Upon arrival, take a guided walk featuring the romantic Lake of Love, stately Béguinage “Ten Wijngaerde,” St John’s Hospital, Gruuthuse and market square with its iconic belfry. After a visit to the Gothic-style Church of Our Lady to admire Michelangelo’s Madonna and Child, enjoy lunch followed by a panoramic canal cruise. This afternoon, return to Brussels for an evening at leisure. (B, L)

After breakfast, check out of your hotel and begin your journey to your ship. Along the way, you will stop in Antwerp for a guided walk through its old town. Visit the Cathedral of Our Lady, where you will admire its collection of art, including paintings by Peter Paul Reubens. Enjoy time to immerse yourself in this port city primarily known as Europe’s diamond capital and Belgium’s fashion epicenter. After lunch on your own, continue to Amsterdam, where you will board your ship. (B)

After your final cruisetour breakfast, continue your exploration of Munich. You may visit the Viktaulienmarkt to walk amongst its stalls, sample some of Munich’s classic dishes or sip a stein in one of the city’s beer gardens.
